FAQ

  • What happens if there is inclement weather?
If there is poor weather during the rental period, we always guarantee that you can reschedule your rental and the credit will be applied to the later date of your choosing as long as the boat/jet ski is available for rental. You don’t lose your rental or your money! However, very often we find that the weather forecast is inaccurate or is specific to certain hours of the day and it’s best to check with us before your rental regarding the weather. Full refunds will be issued if you cancel your booking with greater than 48 hours notice before your rental. Cancellations with less than 48 hour notice will have a “store credit” only. Northeast Georgia Boat Rentals does not offer refunds due to inclement weather or mechanical breakdown, we offer rebooking within the same season. If the weather is deemed inclement or there is a mechanical issue, there will be a ““store credit” on file for the unused rental time, to be used on a future rental during the current season. Please take this into account if you are coordinating guest schedules, visiting from out-of-town or do not have plans to return during the same season, there are no refunds for inclement weather for any reason.
  • How many guests can I bring on the boat/jet ski with me?
Each rental has a capacity listed for the number of people that the rental can hold when rented without a captain. Our pontoon boat accommodates up to 9 passengers, the jet ski can accommodate up to 2 passengers. Any boat rental chartered with a captain has a 7 passenger maximum, no exceptions.
  • Can I bring a dog aboard the boat?
Yes, you are permitted to bring pets on board of the pontoon boat. However, you accept full liability for the animal(s) and their safety. Not to mention, there will be a $25 additional service fee required for the additional cleaning and sanitation of pet hair per animal.
  • What time should I arrive for pickup of the rental property?
We always recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to your rental. Once you book, you will receive a confirmation email with more information concerning anything you need to be aware of prior to the rental (whether selecting a chartered rental with a captain or not). Customers must stay in or near their vehicle until we text you your rental is ready.
  • Where are the low areas of the lake?
The water depth depends on the time of year as rainfall varies periodically effecting the lake level. All shallow areas are well marked and as a general rule if you maintain a 100ft distance from all markers and shoreline you will always be in deep enough water to safely operate the boat.
  • How long can I charter a boat/jet ski for?
Boat and jet ski charters are booked hourly with a minimum of 4 hours. However, neither rental will be operated after dark and outside of the captain’s availability.

Rates for charters include the cost of the captain but exclude fuel costs, which will be determined by the end of the voyage or can be built into the price, provided a destination/itinerary.
  • Are food and beverages provided?
Chartered rentals will always include cold waters on board. Ask us about provisioning the boat with food and/or beverages for you, for an additional fee! Otherwise, you’re welcome to bring your own food, beverages and/or alcohol. We recommend easy-to-eat foods for convenience while the boat may be in motion.
  • Do I need a boat license to drive?

  • Where can I go with the boat/jet ski during my rental?
Anywhere essentially! We don’t place specific boundaries on you and your party unless we have to physically load and unload the rental properties. Then we require that you return the rental at the designated location. In this case, it will be discussed with you to assure that you meet the time requirement by the end of your rental period or face a late return penalty. You are allowed to take the rental as far or as close as you would like as long as your return the property by the designated time.
  • Is the boat/jet ski filled with fuel? Do I have to pay for fuel?
Your rental will come with a full tank, or more-than-enough fuel for your rental. Renters are responsible for the cost of the fuel consumed during the rental. At the end of each rental our staff check the exact amount of fuel consumed and will let you know the total amount. No need to waste time going to the fuel dock or at the pump, fueling the boats is included to save you time and effort!
